Check out my services page to read more about the types of packages I offer. If you do not see what you are looking for, still reach out! Let’s talk about how we can bring your vision to life and create a custom experience for you!

Where are you located, and do you travel?
about-two-arrow

I call Tucson, Arizona home and am there throughout the year but I currently live in Fort Walton Beach, Florida! No travel fees when booking within 50 miles of these two locations! I also love to travel! One of my favorite parts of this job is getting to know the equine community and help tell your stories! Ranch visits are my favorite and sometimes it is just easier to bring my camera to you, rather than brining your horses to new unfamiliar locations!

What kind of availability do you have?
about-two-arrow

My availability depends on a few things including other scheduled shoots and personal commitments. I will always try to communicate my available dates so we can pick one that works for everyone! The best way to ensure you get scheduled on a specific date is to reach out to me in advance! Most of the best times for sessions are either sunrise or sunset for the best warm golden hour lighting. If you have a day in mind, I will do my best to make it work!

How long will my session last?
about-two-arrow

It depends on the type of session you are looking for! Some sessions require more time to ensure we capture all the beautiful photos! However, my most popular session time is an hour. This is usually perfect for portraits or sometimes family sessions! It allows us more time, so we are not rushed and ensure all our animal friends are behaving while we capture the best memories!

How do I book a session?
about-two-arrow

When you are ready to book a session, please head over to my contact page or click "book a session" and fill out the contact form! On the form there are some important questions about what type of session you are looking for, from location to which days you have in mind. This is the best way to reach me so we can talk more! Once you fill out the contact form I will be in touch within the next few days. I am always so excited to hear about your vision for the photos and how we can bring that vision to life!

Do you offer prints, albums, or wall art?
about-two-arrow

Yes! With every session you will have the opportunity to order custom fine art prints and albums as keepsakes from their final gallery! This process includes personal home or business art consultation. This allows us to decide what size art would be best for the space, and what type of custom framing materials that would complement the space. I believe it is so important to have your images printed! You have invested in the session and wanted to capture the special bond between you and your horse, this deserves to be showcased! Printed photos give you something physical to hold, display, and pass down, unlike digital files that can feel temporary or easily forgotten. Printed photos make meaningful, thoughtful gifts that carry emotional significance far beyond digital images.I also offer sessions specifically for creating fine art to display! This is perfect for guest ranches that want to display their own herd in the artwork throughout their property for the guests! Turn your working ranch into a work of art. Let’s plan a shoot to get all the creative artistic moving imagery specifically curated for your ranch. You can also find my collection of equine images that I have curated for interior designers, collectors, and homeowners who want their space to feel like a reflection of the west! This is perfect for people that do not have access to their own horses but still would love to have beautiful images of horses to admire around their home or business! Professionally printed photographs can be works of art, adding warmth, personality, and beauty to your living space.

Equine FAQ's

Working with horses is completely different than a normal photoshoot—trust me, I get it! As a lifelong horse owner and equine photographer, I understand their behavior, conformation, safety, and how to make them look their absolute best.In this section, I answer the most common horse-related questions like handling nervous horses, editing scars, conformation shots, events, assistants, posing, prepping your horse, and how I keep sessions calm and safe.If you have a unique horse or special situation, don’t worry—I’ve probably seen it before! And if not, we’ll figure it out together.

Do you have experience working with horses?
about-two-arrow

Yes I do! I own horses and have been around them for most of my life. I try to ride whenever possible, even in the hot months here in southern Arizona and Florida! I have a Bachelor’s degree in equine studies and am focused on business management, equine nutrition, and young horse development! With all of that I have taken a course on equine conformation, and anatomy so I am knowledgeable about how horses should look for sale photos and when they look their best for movement sessions! It is beneficial to have a photographer that is familiar with horses for your session!  Here are a few reasons why:
Safety Awareness – Horses can be unpredictable, and as photographer with equine experience I understand safe handling practices, positioning, and how to avoid spooking the horse.
Understanding Equine Behavior – As an experienced equine photographer I can read subtle body language, anticipate reactions, and adjust quickly to keep the session running smoothly.
Knowledge of Ideal Poses – AS someone that is familiar with horses, I know what makes them look their best (such as where ears, head, and legs should be positioned) and can capture flattering, professional images. I will always make sure ears are forward!
Patience and Timing – Horses rarely stand still for long; therefore I am skilled in working with movement, timing shots correctly, and adapting to the horse’s natural rhythm. This often makes for better photos rather than trying to get the horse to hold positions.
Proper Equipment Use Around Horses – Horses may be startled by unfamiliar sounds or flashes. I can introduce equipment safely and choose techniques that won’t upset the horse.
Respect for Horse and Rider Relationship – As a horse owner I understand the bond between horse and rider and can capture it authentically, highlighting both personalities. This is one of my favorite things to capture!
Efficiency During Sessions – My familiarity with horses allows me to work smoothly, reducing stress for both horse and rider while still getting high-quality results.
Experience in Varied Settings – Whether at a barn, pasture, or show grounds, I can adapt to different environments and manage distractions unique to the horse’s settings.
Remote Locations – If your ideal location is down your favorite trail, miles to a river, or out a ways on your property I am an experienced rider and can accompany the clients on horseback to the location with my gear. Just provide the horse! I also have four dogs and a cat, and I love all animals so the more the marrier for the session!

My horse isn’t always well-behaved—will that be a problem?
about-two-arrow

Portrait sessions are not always easy for horses. Asking them to stand still for a long period of time can be difficult. In the weeks leading up to your session practice leading your horse around the property and asking them to stand still (no grazing!) for several minutes. Repeat this in multiple areas. A little bit of practice on your part will go a long way and make for a more relaxed session. If you have any specific plans for your photoshoot, like wearing a dress or riding bareback, prepare your horse for that ahead of time. If you’re planning anything out of the norm, be sure to practice. You do not want the first time you ride your horse bareback to be on the day of your photoshoot! That will create unnecessary stress on you and your horse.Keep your horse’s routine as close to the same as possible on the day of your session. If your horse usually gets worked, make time to at least lunge. Turn out time is equally as important. Most photographers choose to photograph before sunset; this is often around dinner time for our horses. It can be helpful to give them part of their dinner before you start your session, or to give them dinner while you change outfits.Having photos taken with your horse should be a fun experience. You’ve likely dreamt of having these photos taken and have a very specific idea in mind of how your photos will turn out. Taking these extra steps to prepare your horse for your session will help things to run smoothly to get the photos you’ve been excited about. If you’re ready to take the plunge to start planning your portrait session, let’s talk about how we can create the perfect photos of you and your best friend. While creating gorgeous moments is my goal, I also strive to make each session a good experience for both horse and rider. Safety and comfort are my top priority. My years of horse experience helped me to recognize equine behaviors that indicate stress and I have multiple tips and tricks to minimize distress while still creating gorgeous photos. If you’re looking for gorgeous photos to display proudly in your home of your best friend, let’s talk about how we can plan the perfect stress free photoshoot together.
